I purchased this great old granite cook stove years ago from a gift shop in Iowa City that was going out of business. It weights a ton, and isn't the greatest for displays, but I still love it. I think back to those early farm women who used stoves like these being fueled by corn cobs. My grandmother told me once that her grandmother knew just how many cobs it would take to get the stove the exact temperature for her black walnut cake. That was without any thermometer and it would come out perfect each time.
That is a beautiful cookstove!! Lucky you to have found it!
